This thickener and accelerator is a liquid additive that can be used with STMPRO X30 Mould Making Silicone to thicken the silicone so that it can be applied to vertical surfaces. As you increase the percentage of the additive, the silicone will thicken and the time to cure will be accelerated.
Instructions
Mix X30 silicone and catalyst as per the product's instructions, then begin to add thixotropic additive up to 10% by weight, mixing in well until the required consistency is achieved. 2% (eg. 20g in 1kg Silicone) will not noticeably thicken the silicone, but the time to cure will be accelerated by about 20 minutes. 8% (eg. 80g in 1kg Silicone) will thicken the silicone, it will still flow slowly and will be workable for several minutes. 10% (eg. 100g in 1kg Silicone) will thicken the silicone to a paste so that it will no longer flow and it will set solid within a few minutes.
